Direct Strike is a custom map for Warcraft III. It is a fast-paced 3v3 tug of war, where your goal is to be the first to destroy your enemies’ fortress. Where can I play?
There are currently two places to play Direct Strike. In either case, you will need a copy of Warcraft III: Reforged installed.
The first place to start off playing is on Warcraft 3's Battle.net (aka Bnet). Bnet is the easiest way to start learning the game. There are always lobbies up or you can even host your own game! The games you play on bnet will not affect your w3champs stats. The games will effect your account profile; such as levels, icons, unit skins, and direct strike coins. Get that money honey! Bnet is low stakes and the place to be when you are trying out new strategies.
To play this way, simply launch Warcraft III from the Battle.net launcher and go to custom games. From there you can either host your own game (using the Downloaded map), or just search for "direct strike" or "ds" and join a game (in this case the map will be downloaded for you automatically!).
W3Champions is a launcher for Warcraft III: Reforged. It works separately from the Battle.net Versus ladder when it is installed and you are able to play on both interchangeably. W3Champions includes a separate game launcher used to start the game instead of the Battle.net Desktop App.
All of the games played on W3C are considered more competitive games and every game you play will be recorded on the W3C leader board. The environment is not the same as bnet. The players on W3C will expect you to have an idea of how to play. If you are learning, it is suggested that you play on bnet first or play with the guide open.
To play this way, visit the W3Champions website and click DOWNLOAD NOW! Follow the guide on the W3Champion download page for installation instructions. Once installed and launched, you can start a new Direct Strike match by clicking the Sword & Gear icon in the bottom-right corner (to the left of the Find Match button). From there, select "Non-Melee" and then "Direct Strike 3v3" from the dropdown. Now hit "Find Match" and get ready for an awesome time!
